Paternalism, inheritance, and generational traumas are all played through the prism of Irish culture
An Irish sheepherding family is caught up in a battle on multiple fronts: internal strife, family feuds, and competition with another farmer.
69th CORK FILM FEST – #3 (PREMIER + Q&A) A fast-paced revenge film, never a dull moment, and somehow manages to pull off the impossible in my opinion
Paul Mescal and Tom Burke were originally cast in the lead roles, but both dropped out when the project stalled and were replaced by Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott..
They both deliver more in their roles than anyone else
The entire cast does a fantastic job, but the standouts may be Nora-Jane Murphy, Barry Keoghan, and Christopher Abbot (whose accents are unreal for an American).
The themes of abuse, violence, and inability to communicate come together well here
They’re still very relevant to our world right now, so they really spoke to me.
